Nemmers Prize winner in residence
Daron Acemoglu, the 2012 winner of the Nemmers Prize in Economics, is visiting the Department in May and June. He delivering his Nemmers Prize lecture "State Building: A Political Economy Perspective" on Wednesday May 15. You can view a video of the lecture. Following the lecture was a two-day conference. Faculty elected to national academies
Professor Dale Mortensen (pictured) has been elected to as a member of the National Academy of Sciences. In addition, faculty members Martin Eichenbaum and Asher Wolinsky has been elected as fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Thinking of taking Econ 381-1 Econometrics next Winter?
The Economics Department in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics has developed a new course Math 314 Probability and Statistics for Econometrics which is a prerequisite for Econ 381-1 Econometrics. Math 314 will be offered in Fall Quarter 2013. For more information, see:
