Eddie Dekel's research focuses on decision theory, the foundations of game theory, mechanism design (in particular with evidence) and voting theory. In particular he has looked at alternatives to expected utility models, and modeling commitment, flexibility, and knowledge. He is a Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the second vice president of the Econometric Society and a member of their executive committee. He is a past editor of Econometrica and the Journal of Economic Literature, and a current associate editor of Theoretical Economics.
